Service Projects

Pharos Service Projects

Christianity is not just a religion of words but also of deeds. Even in Belgium there are people who need help to meet their basic needs like shelter and food. We often don`t realize what we have until we are confronted with the poor and homeless. In that sense they are a gift from God to us, a helpful reminder of how lucky we can count ourselves, and a kick in the butt to actually do something with all we have!

Therefore, Pharos wants to regularly participate in service projects where we serve those who need it most. This will happen regularly on Fridays.

For these service projects we will partner with vzw Rafaël. Located in a former hospital building in the west of Brussels, this organisation provides food and shelter to the poor and homeless. The project was started by Father Reginald Rahoens, a former member of the Jerusalem community and an inspiring man who unfortunately passed away during the summer of 2011.

Pharos will regularly send a team to help out with the distribution of food, preparing of meals, and fixing up of the facilities. Anyone is welcome to join! You can find more info about exact dates on our calendar.
